The Marvelous Work Part 1: God’s people have corrupted themselves and will need to be led out of tribulation and bondage

Part One: Viewing the Marvelous Work through the Prophetic Eyes of Moses- God’s people have corrupted themselves and will need to be led out of tribulation and bondage

In this series we shall deconstruct many of the major prophecies pertaining to the marvelous work and a wonder that Isaiah and the Book of Mormon speak of.

As always, the ancient prophecies about the latter days will instruct us about and will shed light on and reveal and document the true events pertaining to the secret history of Mormonism.

They also help us to discern between true prophets and false prophets.

The true history of the latter day restoration must be understood to better understand our current situation that has been covered up by a false, ever changing orthodox version of history.

If the collective body of Christ that are currently in apostasy, don’t understand how they have sinned and become a scattered and apostate people, how can they repent?

We currently have numerous believers in the latter day restoration who are in a stage of awakening about the true state of latter day Israel. Sadly, this time of awakening is usually accompanied with a faith crisis which leaves people vulnerable to false teachers and false prophets.

While many of these people who are beginning to awaken see the deficiencies in the modern church, some of them are deluded into joining heretical new religious groups.

They are deceived into thinking they have joined a group that is dispensing the true spiritual gifts that always are present among the true church. These deluded souls think they are living the fulness of the gospel.

Hence the need to do a deep dive into the prophecies about the marvelous work.

It is no wonder that several of the first revelations that Joseph Smith received began by warning that a marvelous work was about to take place.

One of the earliest prophetic narratives about the Marvelous Work comes from the words of Moses in the amazing Book of Deuteronomy.

Chapter 4 informs us that in the latter days, just before the marvelous work begins, latter day Israel and all other nations shall be in a scattered state of Idolatry, worshipping other gods.

That is exactly where we are right now.

Everybody is out of the way.

Including YOU and ME.

I don’t care which group you are associated with or whether you are independent.

You do not have the saving ordinances of the gospel and the associated spiritual gifts, including the full baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost:

64 Therefore, as I said unto mine apostles I say unto you again, that every soul who believeth on your words, and is baptized by water for the remission of sins, shall receive the Holy Ghost.

65 AND THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE-

66 In my name they shall do many wonderful works;

67 In my name they shall cast out devils;

68 In my name they shall heal the sick;

69 In my name they shall open the eyes of the blind, and unstop the ears of the deaf;

70 And the tongue of the dumb shall speak;

71 And if any man shall administer poison unto them it shall not hurt them;

72 And the poison of a serpent shall not have power to harm them.

I don’t care if you are part of the Brazil group, the Utah Valley Group, the Snuffer group or any other faction.

You do not enjoy the fulness and will not enjoy the fulness until the appointed servants return.

Beware of charismatic individuals who are currently secretly claiming to be dispensing spiritual gifts and Ordinances
IN BEHALF OF JOSEPH SMITH!!

Latter day Israel is currently in a scattered condition because the saints of the restoration refused to repent, obey the commandments, and consecrate.

The everlasting covenant was established and broken during Joseph Smith’s ministry and the saints were forced to flee the appointed places of gathering. (more on the breaking of the everlasting covenant when we study Isaiah’s prophetic commentary on this topic.)

The prophetic words of Moses inform us that the marvelous work begins when all of Israel including all believers in the LDS restoration are in a scattered condition of apostasy and in TRUBULATION. Following that, while in a state of tribulation God’s people will
finally seek the Lord their God.

At the time that they truly seek God and repent when the servants return, they will be led out of bondage and tribulation and gathered to the appointed places.

The Book of Mormon expressly speaks of the same event when the Gentiles will repent and become clean before the Lord (Ether 4)

This desire to seek truth and flee correlated teachings and priestcraft is happening right now.

Many people are beginning to awake and realize that all major factions of the LDS restoration are all out of the way and in error, without true priesthood authority.

“All tables are full of commit”

Where did apostasy begin in ancient Israel?

The opening passages of Deuteronomy chapter four warns Israel that they should not add to or take away from the commandments God gives us

1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

That is one of the great tests that God uses to check the loyalty and valency of his people.

Will God’s people stay true to the commandments God gave or will they be seduced by the arm of flesh into departing from the truth?

This exact same warning was given in Nauvoo after the saints had stumbled in Kirtland and other areas. It is contained in section 124, the last major revelation that Joseph Smith received.

119 And again, verily I say unto you, let no man pay stock to the quorum of the Nauvoo House unless he shall be a believer in the Book of Mormon, and the revelations I have given unto you, saith the Lord your God;

120 For that which is more or less than this cometh of evil, and shall be attended with cursings and not blessings, saith the Lord your God. Even so. Amen.

The Book of Mormon and the revelations that had been canonized and accepted by the law of common consent at the time Joseph Smith received section 124, had instructed the saints to live the celestial law of monogamy and to consecrate and have all things in common as the New Testament Saints had done.

The contemporary Doctrine and Covenants that governed the church at the time this revelation was given had three revelations that clearly set forth the law that men should only have one wife. There were no revelations giving contrary directives.

It would be some 50+ years later that Brigham Young would canonize a revelation into the Doctrine and Covenants that would blatantly contradict the commandments of God and suggest that having multiple wives is a higher marital law than what the Lord had previously given.

The Book of Mormon had demonstrated in 3rd Nephi that a Zion people needed to be a temporally and spiritually consecrated people.

It also gave a stern warning about the evils of polygamy and had documented the fact that Lehi had been given a strict warning that he and his posterity should not practice the abomination of multiple wives.

The book of Mormon identified polygamy as one of the primary instigators and/or the result of the fall of the Nephite nation.

At the time section 124 had been given in Nauvoo, the saints had already failed to live consecration and the secret practice of having multiple wives had either already begun, or was about to begin.

I wish I had more time to review every verse in this chapter in Deuteronomy, but time dictates that I must cherry pick.

I encourage everyone reading this blog to dissect the entire book of Deuteronomy for context and further information.

The next thing I would point out as I cherry pick things in this chapter that are directly or indirectly related to the marvelous work and how we got into this jam, has to do with the paganistic images on the Nauvoo Temple

Notice what the Lord says to Moses and ancient Israel:

5 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars,
even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

20 But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

The bigender sunstone faces on the temple represent the similitude in the likeness of a male or female.

But it does not stop there, you have the sun, the moon and the stars also represented in the graven images on that sanctuary that people have come to worship.

(This is one of the reasons why my previous series on the distinction between the Boarding House of the Lord and the Temple on the Hill in Nauvoo is so important!!!!

It is very difficult to document any revelation commanding the Nauvoo Temple on the hill to be built. )

The following verses speak of the intercession that Moses made for the children of Israel. Moses intervened in behalf of a condemned people just as the latter day “one like Moses” (Joseph Smith) would eventually do for latter day Israel.

21 Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.

Yes, God was angry with Moses for the sake of apostate Israel.

Moses only committed sin because he interceded between the Lord and apostate Israel and thereby took upon himself the heavy burden of those sins.

You simply cannot understand church history and the history of latter day Israel and the role of Joseph Smith as the Lords covenant servant, unless you understand the history of ancient Israel. You must understand the ministry of Moses, the covenant servant of the Lord who provided intercession.

Moses intervened on behalf of Israel.

As previously documented, he took upon himself the sins of ancient Israel and it prevented ancient Israel from being swept off the face of the earth for their transgressions.

However, it also resulted in Moses having to be chastened for the sins he interceded for.

He was prevented from entering the promised land.

It also resulted in Moses needing to die.

Joseph Smith also intervened in behalf of latter day Israel.

He was also chastised related to his intercession and transgression of God’s law.

His consequences mirrored those of Moses.

He was prevented from establishing Zion.

Joseph Smith had to die.

For the benefit of newer readers, later in this series we shall review the prophecy about how in the latter days, an intercessory covenant servant like Moses would also depart from Gods commandments and he also would need to be chastised and die.

Moving on.

Verses 25- 31 transition into a clear prophecy about the posterity of ancient Israel and what would happen to them in the “latter days“:

25 ¶ When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

As you can see, the Lord is prophesying to Moses what will happen in the latter days to his posterity.

All of them will corrupt themselves and make a graven image.

They will become scattered and destroyed as originally organized as a true church.

The posterity of Moses, the children of Israel, have rejected the law of God and they did corrupt themselves and make a graven image.

That is all in the history books if you know how to read history through the lens of prophecy.

This is why the parable of the redemption of Zion in 101 informs us that when the marvelous work begins the servants will gather up the strength of the Lord’s house and return to the land of the Lord’s Vineyard. They will chase off the enemies and throw down their tower.

At this time, those occupying the space that oppose the servants, are classified as the ENEMIES.

The tower that needs to be thrown down belongs to the enemies of God.

It informs us that the obnoxious abomination of a sanctuary that apostate Israel worships, that has pagan symbols of the Sun God and the sun, moon and stars on it, must be destroyed.

Those that own the tower are enemies of God?

That explains why they are not lifting the warning voice and clearly explaining who the secret combination is that God has warned us about and what the abomination that maketh desolate is.

Instead of warning about the poison that is being administered globally by a secret combination, they are encouraging people to willingly and blindly take it.

Why?

Because they are either completely blind or part of the secret combination that is behind the sinister plot.

The happy news in the above narrative is that after going into a scattered condition of apostasy and tribulation, a remnant of latter day Israel will turn to the Lord and be obedient to his voice.

But this happens during a time of TRIBULATION.

Did you catch that?

The elect are not called out until a general time of tribulation

Then, they are gathered and prepared for the time when God sends a final tribulation and DESOLATION that is poured out upon the wicked who did not repent.

Clearly there is an even greater time of tribulation that the saints will be prepared for after being gathered out, as stated in section 29

7 And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts;

8 Wherefore the decree hath gone forth from the Father that they shall be gathered in unto one place upon the face of this land, to prepare their hearts and be prepared in all things against the day when tribulation and desolation are sent forth upon the wicked.

In part 2 we shall continue with Deuteronomy.

We shall consider the blessing and cursing that falls upon the latter day saints in the “latter days”.

This understanding will help prepare us for the marvelous work and a wonder. It will help us better understand why we need this event to take place.

It becomes apparent that a cursing in the form of a devastating sickness begins spreading across the world at about the time that the saints are gathered out of tribulation. Even a curse.

This is no doubt what Elijah was declaring when Joseph Smith was providing an intercession to prolong the time when the curse would go forth.

13 After this vision had closed, another great and glorious vision burst upon us; for Elijah the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us, and said:

14 Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachi—testifying that he [Elijah] should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord come—

15 To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, [ for fear that ] the whole earth be smitten with a curse—

16 Therefore, the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands; and by this ye may know that the great and dreadful day of the Lord is near, even at the doors.

The 1828 Websters has “lest” meaning “for fear that..”

It is now four generations after Elijah uttered that declaration at the time that Joseph prolonged the time of apostate Israel from being wiped off the land and what do we see?

The earth and all the inhabitants are being smitten with a curse.

Praise God that all of this has been foreseen and that God has provided a remedy.
