Rape Victim: McKenna Denson makes a public accusation against LDS leaders in a local ward fast and testimony meeting

I have been following the McKenna Denson Story for some time now and I am personally convinced that she is telling the truth about a molestation she experienced by an LDS church authority while on her mission.

I personally have no ill will towards Joseph Bishop. I think he committed a very serious sin and I think needs help and repentance for what he did. I feel compassion for McKenna for the trauma and shame that has obviously had a long lasting affect on her life.

I am always reticent to throw stones at people because I am such a sinful piece of work myself.

I think all of us are unaware of many of the sins we are committing and we are not nearly as pious as we think we are.

My primary issue is with the official position of the LDS Church hierarchy who have a policy of never making a public apology for any of the grievous administrative sins and mistakes they have committed and for the blatant cover up that takes place regarding many many issues including this one.

I used to be appalled at the cover up of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church thinking that they were an anomaly£ in how blatant their cover up was, wondering how it could take place on such a massive scale.

It is disappointing to realize that a similar corporate culture has infested the LDS Church.

I think the time has come for members of the church and the general public at large to force this issue and force transparency regarding everything from the truth about LDS church history to the detailed disclosure of what is being done with tithing funds and church finances.

It is truly unfortunate that a person needs to make a public spectacle of themselves in order to be heard and vindicated and for much needed changes to take place within institutionalized religion.

I feel honored and humbled to be able to play a very small part in helping this issue to go viral.

Interestingly, this might have been part of an organized effort. Look at the links to the right on the YouTube page, and there is one that says, “man removed from testimony meeting…” or something like that. He is talking about sex abuse in the context of bishop interviews with minors. Like McKenna, he says he is from “out-of-town”, and his speech happens on the same day as McKenna’s, September 2, 2018. Perhaps there is some group that went around to testimony meetings around the mountain west region to give planned remarks?

    • great catch!

I did see the link to that video but assumed that it was just youtube matching up similar topics…. I did not notice that it happened on the same date. It is unlikely indeed that both events happened on the same day.

I applaud your thoughts, the church owes an apology and more. Lois

I have beem following this as well. I think victims need to be believed and when the church doesn’t listen and she has asked and asked what happened to Bishop, then I can see how McKenna feels betrayed when nothing happened to him. Why? I have also been following the protect lds children movement with Sam Young. I think much abuse has been covered up. The church has settled cases and put out millions or more of settlements, then buried them with non-disclosure agreements. I agree with you, we have all got to stand up and demand transparency in all areas. But how when the leadership seems to care less? They have all the power and control and don’t seem to care if members resign. They also have a way of burying things so most members don’t even know what has happened in the Utah news. I myself would share this more, and even resign, but have TBM family who would not be able to handle it if I did. Sad.

One other thing, I don’t think it was planned that the 2 happened on the same day, people are just so fed up and are trying to figure out what they can do to raise awareness when it is so unknown among members.

Ok, sorry, another thought I had…. I just finished reading Wife No. 19, by Ann-Eliza Young. It was first published in 1875. I liked the first person acoount of what it was like to be a wife of Brigham Young and the culture of polygamy back in the day. It seems to me the disrespect towards women has carried on to our day. My daughter knows someone who was abused by her bishop, and never told. Then when she finally did, her father blamed her because he said he knew what a good guy the bishop was, and that she must have seduced him. She was 13 at the time. At the very least, we can educate ourselves about what really happened back in the day and reread your posts so we can understand what happened to our history. One who is watching , you have mentioned you descend from Brigham Young. After reading the book, it made me wonder which wife you descended from? Maybe you don’t want to say, I was just curious……..I recommend the book btw to anyone who wants to understand that polygamy was HELL!

    • I am happy to report that I come from Brigham’s first monogamist wife who died before he entered into the dark practice.

Sadly, I do come from polygamous marriages on the other side of my family. 😦

In similitude . . . Upon reading your latest post and receiving the answer that I had suspected about Jesus Christ being crucified a second time, in which I specifically asked you about in an email awhile back. That there is an element (descendants of Jews) of the brethren that would truly crucify Christ a second time if the Messiah would appear unto them.

McKenna was raped by Joseph Bishop and then assaulted by those men who “touched her” at the podium. Mckenna was correct in stating the truth as @she was being assaulted a second time,” this time for the world to see and realize that Mckenna by her very testimony was violated before God by this person (that should not be called a man) as he invaded her and stole from her forcefully and unrighteously.

Mckenna was assaulted by two men in broad daylight in front of many witnesses forcefully and dishonorably, these people violated her 4th amendment right to be secure in her person and they violated her 1st amendment right to speak freely whenever and wherever on chooses to do so. And that was the forum to do so.

In my heart and mind . . . to violate an individual against their will and against God in the manner that Joseph Bishop has and these two persons, are a testament to the condition of this apostate church as foretold.

God bless you Watcher for using your platform of truth to expose your audience to the horrific events that have happened to Mckenna and the dark reality of how the brethren hide these detestable acts initially and then when exposed to the light of day, to those of whom sustain these ?leaders?

The local ?leadership? demonstrated clearly in their actions that they too are making an effort, an investment of their energy, to keeping those like Mckenna quiet and continue to hide the darkness that has always been in this corporate church, that aligns itself with all of the the other institutionalized religions of the world.

We are all accountable for what we are allowing to take place right before our very eyes by the exposure of truth in broad daylight, in regards to the abominations that are taking place at all levels of ?leadership? within the lds church.

May we ask for unification in our prayers from our Father in Heaven, to shine light upon all darkness by loving the truth as we seek forgiveness of our sin individually and collectively in allowing this church to continue in its dark and unrighteous ways against His children, our brothers and sisters, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
