“This month shall be unto you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.”

The following title and sub-title to a blog post recently caught my attention:

“Sanhedrin Performs Rare Biblical Commandment Not Seen For 2,000 Years”

“This month shall be unto you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.” Exodus 12:2 (The Israel Bible™)

Following those eye-catching titles, the article began by stating the following-

“Last Thursday, a Biblical commandment that hasn’t been seen in 2,000 years was fulfilled. In the Cardo neighborhood of the Old City of Jerusalem, two witnesses stood before the Sanhedrin and gave testimony that established the beginning of the new month.

Setting the new month by witnesses is considered by Rashi, a prominent commentator on the Bible, to be the first mitzvah (Biblical commandment) the Nation of Israel received after leaving Egypt.”

That makes for juicy prophetic drama, but I beg to differ.

Those Ashkenazi Jews are just a little late coming to the party.

As I read the above snippet I was reminded of the fact that nearly 186 years ago, two of God’s Jewish witnesses did in fact declare, by revelation, what month and day the new year actually begins on:

“The rise of the Church of Christ in these last days, being one thousand eight hundred and thirty years since the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the flesh, it being regularly organized and established agreeable to the laws of our country, by the will and commandments of God, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April—”

In the early days of the restoration the above passage was taken seriously and literally. Joseph Smith himself even reiterated with clarity that it had literally been 1830 years from the coming of Christ until the official formal organization of the church on April 6 1836. Other general authorities have since parroted his sentiments.

Sadly, it has become fashionable among many of the highly educated LDS scholars and theologians to marginalize the above passage as speculative or non-literal (hence, non-revelatory) on the part of Joseph  and Oliver,  (with the exception of a few loose canons within the faith).

Few members of the church realize that the two semi-annual conferences of the LDS church, generally held in October and April, represent the latter  day version of ancient Israels gatherings as commanded by the Lord. But then again, few Mormons even realize that they represent the literal descents of the ancient Israelites.

Realizing that the first day of the year for Israelites, according to the word of God, is April 6th, it is interesting to note that as of today (3/23/2016 according to the gentile calendar), we are still in 2015.

Major Events on Reoccurring Prophetic Dates

I have blogged before about how there are several prophetic days in which multiple prophetic events have taken place throughout history. September 11th is one of the reoccurring prophetic days in which significant things keep happening as is September 21-22.

April 6th is another one.

As we approach the month of April, realizing that it apparently marks the true transition point between the end of the Shemitah year and the beginning of the Jubilee year, there is a very interesting date parallel that is coming up that corresponds with a remarkable historical event in church history.

The Vision

On Sunday March 27th 1836 the Dedicatory Prayer was offered up in the Kirtland Temple (See Section 109). Exactly eight days later on Sunday April 3rd 1836, the secret vision behind the veil took place and the dispensation of the gospel of Abraham was secretly ushered in. (See Section 110)

Interestingly, Joseph and Oliver never publicly revealed what had happened on that prophetic day behind the veil as they had an amazing vision and were visited by Christ, Moses, Elias and Elijah.

The Prophecy

During that Vision, Christ uttered an amazing prophecy regarding the future significance of the Kirtland Temple and sacred events that would take place in it:

Let the hearts of your brethren rejoice, and let the hearts of all my people rejoice, who have, with their might, built this house to my name.

For behold, I have accepted this house, and my name shall be here; and I will manifest myself to my people in mercy in this house.

Yea, I will appear unto my servants, and speak unto them with mine own voice, if my people will keep my commandments, and do not pollute this holy house.

Yea the hearts of thousands and tens of thousands shall greatly rejoice in consequence of the blessings which shall be poured out, and the endowment with which my servants have been endowed in this house.

And the fame of this house shall spread to foreign lands; and this is the beginning of the blessing which shall be poured out upon the heads of my people. Even so. Amen.

The Sound of the Gospel will Go Forth

God is going to yet manifest himself to his people in the Kirtland Temple. The sound of the gospel will go forth from there when the Marvelous Work begins. On Wednesday March 30th, 1836, in the “midst of the week” (see Dan 9:27)  between the dedicatory prayer and the secret vision behind the veil, a solemn assembly was held in the Kirtland Temple. on that day, Joseph Smith made the following declaration:

” the sound shall go forth from this place [kirtland] into all the world, and the occurrances of this day shall be handed down upon the pages of sacred history, to all generations; as the day of Pentecost, so shall this day be numbered and celebrated as a year of jubilee, and time of rejoicing to the Saints of the Most High God” Joseph Smith

You can take that to the bank.

The Sound will go forth from Kirtland into all the world. The Kirtland Temple will yet become famous in all the world.

On April 3rd 1836, there was an endowment that took place during the vision having to do with the priesthood keys to gather Israel. That endowment enabled the knowledge of the gospel to go forth in a preliminary gathering prior to the Marvelous Work and a Wonder. It began gathering remnants of Israel from foreign lands to America even though the restored gentile church had failed in their attempt at consecration and had rejected the fulness of the gospel.

Shortly after this event, Joseph announced that something new must be done for the salvation of the church and he commissioned the quorum of the Twelve to take the gospel message across the “great waters” to the “Dispersed of Judah” and the “Outcasts of Israel”.

In section 118 the Lord commanded the Twelve to cross the great waters and promulgate the gospel and bear record of the name of Christ to remnants of Israel.

“And next spring let them depart to go over the great waters, and there promulgate my gospel, the fulness thereof, and bear record of my name..” And next spring let them depart to go over the great waters, and there promulgate my gospel, the fulness thereof, and bear record of my name. And next spring let them depart to go over the great waters, and there promulgate my gospel, the fulness thereof, and bear record of my name.” (See D&C 118)

This missionary effort would result in thousand of converts gathering from across the great waters into Nauvoo.. This began the fulfillment of the prophecy that Christ gave in 3rd Nephi 16

“And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth,…. and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.

And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.

And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel.

But if the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, saith the Father, behold they shall be numbered among my people, O house of Israel.”

If you are a member of the LDS church that descends from pioneer heritage going back to the time when converts were flooding into Nauvoo from across that great waters, you are the result of the endowment that was given and you are part of the fulfillment of the amazing prophecies that Christ uttered in section 110 and in 3rd Nephi 16.

Seal Up the Vision!

Directly after the vision took place in the Kirtland Temple, Joseph and Oliver dictated the event to Oliver Cowdery’s brother who was one of Joseph Smith’s scribes at the time. The record was then sealed up in the official church dairy that was being used at the time to record historical events taking place in the church.

Despite the fact that the church would not migrate from Kirtland to Far West for several more  years, and despite the fact that there were lots of blank pages left in the diary, it was retired from use and no other historical events were recorded in it. It almost appears as if the prophetic message being established by the retiring of the diary was implying that the vision was to be the last Pentecostal event during Joseph’s ministry. And indeed it was. Furthermore, Joseph and Oliver declined to proclaim this amazing event to the saints during their lifetimes.

Finish the Transgression

The sealing up of the account of this amazing vision and prophecy had been prophesied in the Book of Daniel thousands of years later along with the exact amount of time it took for the restored church to finish their transgression.

Christ would pronounce Joseph and Oliver clean during this vision which would “finish the transgression” and  “bring an end of sins“. Hidden in the midst of all of this was an atonement offering by the latter day Moses that would “make reconciliation for antiquity“. in behalf of apostate Modern day Israel. It would prevent modern Israel from being swept off of the earth for their transgression similar to how the atonement offering that Moses had offered up anciently in behalf of Israel prevented them from being wiped off of the face of the earth from the anger of the Lord.

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Earlier I mentioned that there was an interesting date parallel that is coming up.

I am referring to the fact that General Conference in 2016 falls on Sunday April 3rd! the same date that the vision and prophecy that had been sealed up took place in the Kirtland Temple.

This is highly unusual for general conference to be held on April 3rd and to be on a Sunday.

I don’t know how many times during the last 180 years that General Conference has fallen on Sunday April 3rd but I would be willing to bet the little toe on my left foot that it is not very often if at all. The fact that we are at a major transition point between the Shemitah and the Jubilee makes it even more remarkable. The graphic  previously used to highlight the events relating to the ancient eight day temple atonement protocol that took place during Joseph Smith’s ministry is once again provided below with the corresponding dates that are quickly approaching.

eight days 2

Just sayin…

The following invitation to listen to General Conference is provided on the official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints..

All members of the Church are invited to participate in the 186th Annual General Conference of the Church.

The First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities and general officers of the Church will deliver messages of inspiration and guidance in six sessions:

The general women’s session for sisters ages eight and older will be Saturday, March 26, at 6:00 p.m. mountain daylight time (MDT).

The general priesthood session for priesthood holders will be Saturday, April 2, at 6:00 p.m. MDT.

The general sessions for individuals and families will be Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. MDT.

Those desiring to compare the content of a semi annual conference that is conducted by a darkened and apostate  group of Jews, to the content of the messages given by those that have been enlightened by the fulness of the gospel may want to listen to the above conference and then listen to the what the true servants of God have to say when they return in the near future to give the final warning. 🙂

PS at this link  there is an interesting article by John Pratt about the uniqueness of a related upcoming date.
