Condensed and Updated Article on Whitmer

I often write articles backwards, beginning with my ending conclusion and working my way forward. I don’t know why I do this except that I was a breach-birth and have done many things back-ass-wards in my life.

The problem with writing narratives backwards is that my articles end up longer and more repetitive that they otherwise would be. (I’ve never taken a writing class and, for all intents and purposes, failed English in high school) Such was the case with my last blog post on David Whitmer, which was somewhat long and repetitive.

I have since attempted to clean it up and update it to include the change in the wording of the baptismal ordinance which is critical to the article, I then put it in a pdf. (thanks for bringing the change in the ordinance to my remembrance NEPT)

The new and hopefully improved article can be viewed here

Series on Email Correspondence

I have gotten a few interesting emails in response to that article which has motivated me to do a series highlighting email correspondence in the past. I have received many interesting communications over the years that have given me ideas for blogs, but I seldom act on those ideas. It occurs to me that simply sharing some of these communications might make for some interesting posts.

When I start this series, that names and even screen names of those I am communicating with will be removed to protect both the guilty and the innocent, however, if you have sent me emails and would still prefer that I not post them, just send me a quick email telling me. (any previous emails where it was already been requested to be kept confidential will be honored)

Power from on High

greg prince

I have been reading “Power from on High: The Development of Mormon Priesthood” by Gregory Prince, an LDS author.

A historian of the Community of Christ (RLDS) church recommended it to me when I was discussing priesthood with him.

I am really impressed with it. Prince is one of the few authors of LDS history that treats the restoration of the office of High Priest at the Morley Farm in 1831 seriously, despite not fully understanding the full implications of the event.

It is gratifying to see the general historical timeline summary that I have uncovered, emerge as I read books about LDS history

timeline 2

First John the Baptist.. then Elijah

In the Book, Prince makes the following observation several times:

Although Elijah did not become associated with priesthood for anotyher two years, he gradually became the most important figure for latter day Saint authority. Indeed, after 1840, Smith never associated Moroni, John the Baptist, or Peter, James, and John- previous angelic ministers- with the concept of priesthood, opting to instead emphasize Elijah..” (Pg 2, etc.)

Prince does not blatantly divulge his personal view of this transitional focus on priesthood restoration from John the Baptist to Elijah in the later years of Joseph’s ministry. It is not clear to me if he sees it as a disconnect, a curiosity, or blatant revisionism.

He is really good at presenting the facts and withholding judgment.

It would be interesting to have Prince read the following article and get his response. I believe the following article clears the confusion up.

Snuffing at Section 110

I suspect this was one of the many books Snuffer studied in preparation for writing PTHG. I think Snuffer must have been highly influenced by this book by Prince, and perhaps it had something to do with Snuffer’s confusion about priesthood and his obsession with the future mission of Elijah.

Ultimately, Snuffer has completely misunderstood that patriarchal priesthood is a lessor, patriarchal priesthood, while the Melchizedek priesthood represents the fulness of priesthood which must be received according to the voice of God out of heaven and which was had by Enoch, Elijah and Melchizedek.

Sadly, Snuffer has implied that he rejects section 110 in PTHG and other articles.

It seems strange indeed to me that Snuffer has tried to destroy people’s belief in the validity of section 110, while not definitively taking a personal stand on the issue. He claims to have been taught by Christ multiple times. He claims he has a message for the world from Christ. He claims to have wrested the priesthood away from the leaders of the corporate church.

He claims that thousands of his followers have been re-baptised per his instructions and protocol, (which I do not believe)  and yet, despite his professed advanced state as a revelatory luminary, he cannot take a bold stand one way of the other on whether Joseph and Oliver did in fact experience a secret visitation behind the veil with Christ and other ministering angels. It is a serious thing to reject revelation.

My personal belief is that Snuffer now realizes that he got ahead of himself and made a huge mistake when he questioned the veracity of Section 110, but he will not admit his mistake because he does not want to admit to such a huge blooper which exposes the fact that he is utterly clueless about a number of basic issues.

I realize those in the Snufferite movement feel that I am being too hard on him and that I should just leave him alone. I admit that I have probably made lots of doctrinal errors in my pontifications, but hey, heretics like me simply throw out our opinions to get people to search the scriptures. We are not claiming doctrinal infallibility nor are we claiming to be prophets. We are not claiming to have the authority to instruct others to get re-baptised, etc.

Once a person makes the kind of claims that Snuffer has made, it puts a burden of responsibility on the rest of us to test his claims and test the doctrines he teaches against the word of God.

After all, if he was a true prophet, as he claims to be, I would certainly want to listen to the message from God’s Servant!

I have indeed studied his claims. I have carefully read and studied the doctrines he teaches and the claims he has made. As far as I am concerned he has been weighed in the balance and found wanting, as far as getting this country boy to following his advice or believe his doctrines.

It is difficult to believe it has now been over a year since I publicly challenged Brother Snuffer to a debate. My desire was to expose the many false teachings in his book and reduce the number of deceived followers that he has. Ironically, he has probably done more damage to his own credibility, by making the  ridiculous claims he did in his last talk, than I could have done in a debate.

The Young Family and Patriarchal Priesthood

One of the fascinating things that I learned from the book is that the first patriarchal blessings took place AFTER the rejection of the fulness of the priesthood and just prior to the sending of the patriarchal gospel to the House of Israel.

Guess which family of the restoration was the first to begin giving patriarchal blessings?

The Joseph Smith Sr. Family?

The John Young family. John Young was the father of Brigham Young!

This makes so much sense to me because Brigham Young became the presiding apostle over the taking of the gospel to the Jews via the patriarchal priesthood. The John Young family is a major player in the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham, that Abraham and his seed would take the gospel to the nations of the world.

For more information about patriarchal priesthood and how the Abrahamic promise is fulfilled through patriarchal lineage, see the following article which shows how Section 110 and the Book of Abraham provide a reciprocal witness of each others divine origin.

James B. Jordan

James B. Jordan is a Biblical Scholar that has written many very interesting articles. The other day as I was pondering David Whitmer’s claim the Christ was the last High Priest, I began studying the topic in the New Testament to see where whitmer got that notion. It never says that Christ was the last high priests. Indeed, a careful reading of Paul writing on the subject in the Book of Hebrews indicates to me just the opposite. Anyway, I googled “Christ was a High Priest” and it led me to a remarkable article by James B. Jordan. He uses symbolism and typology to prove that Peter became the high priest in Jerusalem after the crucifixion.

We are all Catholics right Now

Did you know that every person on this earth is a Catholic right now?

Including you.

Probably not.

The USA-Inc. is a subsidiary of the Crown which is a subsidiary of the Vatican and their masonic-Jesuit-combination.

You probably think this notion is laughable right?

romney and bishopAt one time the USA did not even allow diplomatic relations with the Vatican because it was common knowledge that the Vatican considers the Pope to have supreme universal spiritual and temporal power over all churches and all people.

Papal Supremacy

“Papal supremacy is the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church that the pope, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ and as pastor of the entire Christian Church, has full, supreme, and universal power over the whole Church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered: that, in brief, “the Pope enjoys, by divine institution, supreme, full, immediate, and universal power in the care of souls.”

To fully understand just how serious the Vatican is about maintaining the Popes universal power of the souls of man, one needs to read The Jesuit Extreme Oath of Induction

kennedy mckayIt is interesting how many pics there are on the internet, of church leaders and politicians that are swapping the “nail” with each other.

The sad truth is that both of the major political parties are given their marching orders by a secret cabal deep in the bowels of the Vatican. And I am sure that there is nothing I can say right now to convince you otherwise so I won’t try.

In 1988, President Benson gave this warning in General Conference

I testify… Secret combinations lusting for power, gain, and glory are flourishing. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world. (See Ether 8:18–25.)

Nevertheless, I would submit that all of us are essentially members of the Catholic Church because of a secret combination that has infiltrated virtually all governments and major organizations..

romney 11

Once the light shines forth and the Kingdom of God is restored to the earth, that will all change.

Gord and handshake

Our status will not change until the servants return with the keys of the kingdom and the fulness of the Gospel/priesthood.

Until then, there is a secret cabal that has dominion over the whole world

“..Save Two Churches Only..”

Once the kingdom is restored, there will again, be two churches vying for power on the earth. At that time, everyone in the world will need to choose which church they want to belong to and whether they will labor for money, or for Zion. Will it be the Church of the Devil or the Church of the Lamb of God?

The following passage in the Book of Mormon  is continuously misunderstood and misquoted because people assume that the “Church of the Lamb of God” is on the earth right now:

And it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil.
10  And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.
11  And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many waters; and she had dominion over all the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.
12  And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few, because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw.
13  And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather together multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to fight against the Lamb of God.

Are you a member of the Church of the Lamb of God right now?

Don’t flatter yourself.

It is not currently on the earth right now.

The scriptures tell us what signs will follow the true disciples of Christ once the fulness has returned to the earth. Those signs are not on the earth right now.

Did you know that the Vatican called a summit on marriage and they summoned leaders from the LDS church to attend?

pope francis and eyring

Naturally, at the bequest of the first Jesuit pope, the LDS church sent President Eyring to give an inspiring talk on marriage and rub shoulders with their controllers. The leaders of the church must have been giddy about the invitation because the Vatican has pretty much publicly snubbed the Mormons at these kinds of public events in the past. We have come a long way baby!

I suspect it was a spiritual experience for President Eyring to look deep into the eyes of the man that is the temporal and spiritual mouthpiece of the God of this world.

Selling the benefits and features of marriage

President Eyring gave a wonderful talk on marriage at the Vatican summit. He sold the advantages of marriage based on the features and benefits of marriage. Frankly, I was a little surprised that someone claiming to be an apostle of Jesus Christ didn’t simply quote from Genesis and other scriptures, and authoritatively declare that the monogamous marital union between one man and one woman is a commandment of God.

In his talk President Eyring was able to testify that he was an “Eye Witness” of the institution of marriage. It must have been wonderful to be able to testify of being an eye witness of something.
